Recreating the real restaurant experience people were craving amidst a global pandemic.

With the rise of virtual happy hours and Zoom parties while dining in was on pause amidst a global pandemic, The DoorDash Lunchroom provided creative resources to help consumers share virtual meals with their friends and family - and a restaurant experience we were all craving. The Lunchroom was a microsite where consumers can choose what restaurant, event, or far-off place to dine at, virtually of course. Each unique environment offered a bundle of a downloadable Zoom background, a link to a DoorDash menu, and a link to a playlist to pair with your meal. We also created a Snap Lens to share your favorite meals in AR.

We pitched the concept to external partners and received great reactions. Partners to opt into the idea included McDonalds, The Cheesecake Factory, Chipotle, Chili's, Outback Steakhouse, Taco Bell, Panera, Baskin Robbins, Robertas, Jon & Vinnys, Cracker Barrel, Auntie Anne’s, Buffalo Wild Wings and more.
